final evaluation

                                 Final evaluation
I have enjoyed the process of creating an flash animation and the processes including within it, at times it was extremely hard to do but I looked for different ways to get my desired results the key points throughout this work such as scripting , tweening and editing Personally I preferred using onion skin where I have to repeatedly draw the character but I found it effective than tweening I feel like if I had more time I could make my animation more flawless and longer by adding a stronger story base than I had in this animation.

The research I looked for was online interactive story’s such as dead on arrival and hotel what I found interesting and inspiring about them is the way they the story is gripping and the art concept gave me inspiration to improve my own work for the better the programs I used such as Audition and flash had simple layouts and user friendly and bright colour based.

I think my flash skills have grown by a lot due to me never using flash before but now I feel I can create another animation of higher quality the process of making my characters began with mind mapping and intensive research into character design, I designed rough characters in Photoshop where I later used them in better quality and I knew what to create when I started my animation

Demo

The beginning process of animating a robot starts off with making an outline with details lightly put in for the desired effect of the animation in this case was the legs which I’m going to tween to move to simulate like its walking as well as the a lighting being able to flash on and off with another tween with a colour repeatedly flashing through the animation.

The robot needed to be colour to make it easier to move without selecting the background through the gaps using the selection tool, by using an anchor point where the legs would have a central point to each other so it wouldn’t look like there were separate legs but it actually being alive and moving on its own.
To attempt more complicated tweens and other things we decided to add in a button tween to start the robot moving instead of it happening at the beginning of the film by using a code in the action tool bar to make it the only part of the file that can make the robot move.

Once the robot could walk across the scene I added a wall that the robot could walk into as a collision which I wanted to later on to make the robot fall over which ended up being too difficult to do I the time we had so I added in birds noise like in a cartoon after a bump of some sorts which would show the collision as well as a light sound of music in the background

Research on other flash animations

These images are the research on flash animations that I found on you tube by people plainly experimenting with the flash programme from full body characters to basic stickmen with facial features such as mouth and eyes where the full body pictures have slight more detail with the arms legs and sometimes logo’s

The flash videos I researched show a good amount of skill in them although not as good as some I have watched but I choose these due to they are similar in style of what I want to do.

Although I’m doing something similar I’m going to try to do a flash animation on a small scale and work my way up from that point so I can learn more skills and master them like the people have done in the animations I have researched

as well as the interactive comics that use the similar flash style they can both add in both buttons aswell as music and other things to make it more user friendly

Animation over look

The story begins with the main character leaving a club with a “woman” but in Fact it is a man unknown to the character. They then leave the club and take a shortcut down an alley where they are attacked by a man like creature and the “woman” is kidnapped while the Character is left to fight a group of ninja while the creature gets away with the “woman”.

After a cut scene of the character running across the Rooftops he finds them at an castle rooftops where there is a small fight between them and as a twist at the end the character finds out the “woman” is a guy and he pushes him off the castle and runs off.

I had to make a new story due to my original idea being over complicated and unnecessary, i decided to carry on my idea of using stick-men but made the location more exotic and more exciting which would also be challenging to me.
The idea is based in a make believe universe on a small rock planet where two beings meet and begin to fight over who controls the area they are in the fight mainly sems one sided but still lets the watcher wanting to know what happens next near to the end of act 1 the left stick man throws the other towards another planet where there is a cut scene of him flying through space leading to the final fight scene on the distant planet.
