Plot Point - Act 1 - comprised of the first quarter of the screen play (for a two hour movies this would last 30 mins)
Act 2 - comprised of the next two quarters of the film (for a two hour film this would last 60 mins)
Act 3 - comprises the final quarter of the film (for a two hour film this will last 30 mins)
The "Plot point" according to the field, the three acts are separated by two plot points, a plot point often called a reversal is an event that thrusts the plot in a new direction, leading into a new act of the screen play
Lay out act 2 -
Obstacles--In the second act, the main character encounters obstacle after obstacle that prevent him from achieving his dramatic need.
first Culmination--a point just before the halfway point of the film where the main character seems close to achieving his or her goal/objective. Then, everything falls apart, leading to the midpoint.
Midpoint--a point approximately halfway through the film where the main character reaches his/her lowest point and seems farthest from fulfilling the dramatic need or objective.
Act 3 layout -
Climax -Second Culmination -The point at which the plot reaches its maximum tension and the forces in opposition confront each other at a peak of physical or emotional action.
Denouement--The brief period of calm at the end of a film where a state of equilibrium returns.
Video game layout - Act 1- The beginning of this games cut scene shows are main character (hero) doing his every day duty in this case he is at a church due to his city's mistaken faith towards demons in which we also meet the "love" of the hero which is a main concept for this entire story upon establishing the names of the main character "Nero" and his "love" Kyrie there is a sequence of events that fold out into a battle when Dante the demon hunter jumps through a sky light and kills the man known as Sanctus which is somewhat of a preacher, Dante easily defeats the holy knights which is when Nero begins fighting with Dante or murdering what he thought was an innocent man during the fight Nero's cast on his arm is broken revealing a demon like claw which was implanted onto him giving him new abilities.
Act 2 - Long after the battle Nero attempts to hunt down Dante ending up in them fighting repeatedly but yet always ending in a drawn where Dante would smugly wonder off leaving Nero to find him once again in the process he his forced to fight demons that have came from hell to take over earth where he finds out the truth about Sanctus and the holy knights which turn out they are all demons or human converted into demons where he is forced to fight he people he thought were his friends.
After Battling the brother of Nero's lover they both see another one of Sanctus's demons capturing her and placing her into a device which drains her life force in witch he must find her defeat what ever is protecting her and put an end to the lies that have clouded his eyes in the past, After saving the woman Nero and Dante join forces to defeat Sanctus who has turned into a towering stone monster who again has kidnapped the lover once again Nero is forced to fight him but in turn is also captured after causing a lot of damage which is where Dante comes in holding off the huge demon as eh shouts to Nero within the demon waking him wake him and kills the demon from the inside out.
Act 3 - After defeating the demon Nero and Dante say goodbye to attempt to go back to their old lives for Dante is a gun for hire which normally makes him run into a demon somehow and living off pizza and strawberry ice-cream, for Nero he goes back to his easy life where he might spend a short amount of time finishing off demons in the area but mainly carrying on his life with his love.
Fallout 3 - act 1 - Starting off in this game by creating a custom character, deciding skin color eyes color face structure, and hair.
After choosing your character you are sent along a timeline to where you are a toddler where you are shown the basic control and customies your characters skills then you are found by your father which he tells you a story about your latefter another timeline mother.
After appearing as a toddler you are sent along another timeline to where you are at your tenth birthday where you learn about hand to hand combat and diologe options which benefits you throughout the game once this process is compleate your father takes you aside and teacher you how to use a bb gun and kill your first monster in the vault.
Act 2 - After another time line you wake up at the rough age of twenty and you are awoken by your friend where she tells you your father has left the vault and the guards are trying to kill you because he left which has scared everyone who have lived in the vault their entire lives whihc you think you also have.
Once you have left the vaunt you set off to the nearest town to find information on where your father has gone where you must do jobs for some people to get information or where you can buy the information off characters
after finding out where your father has gone you go to the aircraft carrier which had been turned into a city and find a doctor who knew your father and found out why he left and the truth that you were born in rivet city
you get told that your father is trying to restart the machine that makes water clean for the entire country and give water out for free which is where you run into the enemy army who wants to sell it for their own gain.
Act 3 - once finaly finding your father he gets an good or bad oppion of your depending on your choices throughout the game and you do small tasks such as fetching things for him where he is captured and killed by the enemy and you are captured but kept alive to find out how the machine works
Finally at the end of the main story line you get the choice to let a woman sacrfice herself or you do it which is a good/bad and it comes in with images of your journey where you wake up in your new home and can carry on the game doing what you like.
Oblivion - With this game set up is similar to fallout 3 with character creation but this game allows you to choose from vast amount of races as-well as gender and how they look even to the age .
You start off in a prison cell with no memory of anything but your name as a wood elf teases you (the taunt depends on your race) whena group of guards and the king walk into your cell and make you move back so they open a secret passage to get away from the evil demons that are trying to kill the king.
After fallowing them you have to defend the king from an attack but you are unable to move and he is killed, his last words are that he asks you to find his son and close the demon gates, after closing a number of gates you find the prince but is being attack so once again you must defend him. once you have saved him you do a few small quests where he then sends you to paradise where you must defeat the ruler but it is no use because his real form as appeared in the city and begun attack it seeing no hope the prince turns into a dragon and battles the demon destroying it but also turning himself in his dragon form to stone
